New Header! and Other Things

I have a new header!! My sweet friend Katie designed and made it for me. Thank you so much, Katie!

On the other things note, Grandpa and Grandma are coming tonight!!! For me, the convention starts in a week. Violin lessons are going well; I'm learning to fiddle and hop. :) I might join the string choir that's forming at church. Hmmmm...not much else going on around here. :)

Bird Music

From Jarbas Agnelli's Vimeo video:

"Reading a newspaper, I saw a picture of birds on the electric wires. I cut out the photo and decided to make a song, using the exact location of the birds as notes (no Photoshop edit). I knew it wasn't the most original idea in the universe. I was just curious to hear what melody the birds were creating."

Okay...

I won't leave y'all in suspense any more. :)

Those were some good guesses. All of you came pretty close.

It was the spray from a semi truck on the highway. I was trying to get a picture of the wheels, but I didn't snap it quite quickly enough. It's one of those that's so weird I like it. Know what I mean? Or am I all alone on that one? :)

Anyways, not much has been going on around here. Just the usual. :)

Oh, and for those of you who are curious about the weather, it's currently 81 degrees. Ahhhhhh... :)

Love

Story

Well, you already saw pictures, now you get the story. :)

My testimony I shared pretty much sums it all up, so I'm posting it below.

When I was seven years old, I received Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. I wanted my grandpa, who is a pastor, to baptize me, but he wasn't physically able. I figured that if I couldn't obey God on my terms, there wasn't any rush and I just kept putting it off. At the beginning of March, God put it on my heart that I needed to obey Him on His terms, not mine, and be baptized. I prayed about it all week, and on Sunday Mr. -- preached about baptism and announced the service today. I knew that this was what I should do. Even though it would have been special to have my grandpa baptize me, I am blessed to have Pastor -- do it, and I want to thank him. I also want to thank you all for being here to witness this special moment.

Ahhh...

Doing things you haven't done since you were little...ahhhhhhh. :) (in this case, being little was three years ago. :) To get to go to a speech and debate tournament. :)

When we were little, we were speech and debate kids. We were never in it, but we were always at the tournaments all day every day. We knew some of the kids when we started, but year after year we got to know most all of the other kids. We became part of the group. We knew everyone and everyone knew us. It was a ton of fun. When I started timing, I was the youngest person doing it. I was under the age they allowed, but I had sat in on so many speeches and they desperately needed timers. After I timed speech for a while, they let me move up to timing debate. I was one of the regulars at the timing station. They got to know me so well that they would stick me in the room that I would best like to time. And I always loved the rooms they gave me. When we moved, our speech and debate days came to an end. We didn't know of any tournaments around here. And then we started meeting people and found out there is one around here! So this weekend I get to go to a speech and debate tournament. :) And it's looking like I'll probably get to time. :) One of the nice things is that I already know quite a few kids who are in it. :) Ahhhh...like the good old days. :) (can you tell I'm happy? :)
